CHICAGO — Dana White dares hackers to continue targeting the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s website. In fact, he wants them to do it right now.
“Keep hacking our site,” said White, president of UFC parent Zuffa. “Do it again. Do it tonight.”
Hackers managed to redirect the UFC.com domain to other sites multiple times earlier this week, although servers that hold the company’s data were not penetrated. In Twitter posts and websites related to the issue, hackers described their anti-UFC efforts as responses to Zuffa’s support of anti-piracy bills in Congress.
Zuffa backs the proposed Stop Online Piracy Act and the Protect Intellectual Property Act measures, which have drawn widespread criticism from technology companies and online services. The anti-SOPA movement was further inflamed by the recent shutdown of the popular Megaupload.com sharing site and the arrest of its owner.
White compares hackers of UFC.com to terrorists. He spoke about it Thursday to reporters in Chicago:
Is SOPA the perfect bill? No, it’s not.
The only thing that we’re focused on is piracy. Piracy is stealing. You walk into a store and you steal a (freaking) gold watch, it’s the same as stealing a pay-per-view.
I don’t care what your twisted, demented idea of stealing is. These kids that grew upon the Internet have never had to pay for anything, so they think you shouldn’t have to.
Keep hacking our site. Do it again. Do it tonight.
Request Intelifi | Background ChecksYou know what’s happening is? These guys look like terrorists now, and a bill that was about to die is about to come back. …
I’m not afraid of the Internet. I love the Internet. It’s fun to get on there and cruise around and stuff. I’m not afraid of you.
You want to keep hacking our site, go for it. Watch what happens. You’re hurting yourself.

Cyberattacks on large companies that support SOPA, as well as government agencies, has galvanized backers of the bill, White said. Opposing powerful entities such as the government is self-defeating, he added:
TigerDirect Guru DealsYou’ll be very surprised what’s happened over the last six days over this whole thing. You go in and you start hacking big companies’ websites, big government websites. … Politicans were terrified of the Internet — now you’re making them mad.
The one thing everybody has to learn and everybody has to know — everybody has this thing, “You can’t beat the Internet” — you can’t beat the (freaking) government. That’s who you can’t beat. That’s a fight you will always lose.
